Al Araby TV agreement with the Verified Initiative launched by the United Nations

Al Araby TV has signed a cooperation agreement with the Verified Initiative launched by the United Nations
As part of the new "Al Araby - partnerships for development" CSR program, Al Araby TV has signed a cooperation agreement with the Verified Initiative launched by the United Nations.
This global initiative is the first of its kind on the internet, as it invites people around the world to verify the information and to take care before they share any content online. This campaign aims to change the behavior of internet users and seeks to create a new standard for social media interaction to help combat the growing impact of disinformation that spreads like the virus itself. The Pause campaign, which is part of the Verified initiative, seeks to change behavior around spreading disinformation and mobilize experts, researchers, governments, influencers, civil society, companies, regulators, and the media under one message. It aims to increase media awareness, provide health information confirmed by scholars, as well as share and exchange stories of solidarity around the world. UN Under-Secretary-General Melissa Fleming said: "Misinformation during the COVID-19 pandemic can lead to the death of people, and it is clear that we cannot successfully address the epidemic without addressing online disinformation." Al Araby TV will participate in this initiative by publishing the content provided by the campaign to its followers through social media, to contribute to sharing awareness about the importance of verification before posting and sharing information via the Internet.
